A Day in the Life of Danielle Roundtree

If I had to describe my typical day, it would be busy, nonstop, and very dependent on digital media. Between work, my kids, and school, I am always on the go, and I rely on different apps to help keep everything running smoothly.

My day usually starts early, and one of the first things I do is turn on Apple Music. I honestly use it all day long. In the morning, it helps me wake up and get in a good mood while I am getting ready and making sure everything is set for the day. Whether I am driving, working, or just at home, I almost always have music playing in the background. It helps me stay focused and makes everything feel a little less stressful.

Once I am out the door, Apple Maps is a must. I use it anytime I am driving, especially when I have a lot going on and need to stay on schedule. It helps me avoid traffic and get where I need to go on time, which is really important with everything I have to balance. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of driving and just makes my day easier.

During work, I am usually focused and multitasking, but I still check Snapchat here and there. It is my main way of staying in touch with friends and seeing what everyone is up to. I like that it is quick and easy, and it does not take much time to send a message or look at stories. That being said, it can definitely be distracting if I am not careful. Sometimes I catch myself checking it more than I should when I need to be focused.

After work, my day shifts into family time. I am helping with my kids, taking care of things around the house, and just trying to stay on top of everything. Even then, digital media is still part of my day. I still have music playing, and I might use my phone to look something up or stay in contact with people.

At night is when I switch into school mode. Since I am a marketing major, I spend time working on assignments, discussions, and projects. Everything is online, so I rely on digital platforms for basically all of my schoolwork. It definitely makes things more convenient because I can work on assignments whenever I have time, but it also means I am on my computer or phone a lot.

Overall, I would say my experience with digital media is mostly positive. Apps like Apple Music and Apple Maps make my day easier and help me stay organized. They save time and help me manage everything I have going on. Social media, like Snapchat, is great for staying connected, but it can also be a distraction if I am not paying attention to how much I am using it.

When I think about digital media and marketing, I notice how much it is a part of everything I do. Almost every app I use has some type of ad or promotion. What stands out to me is how personalized everything is. I see ads that relate to things I have searched for or looked at before, which makes them feel more relevant.

I also notice how marketing now is more about engagement than just selling something. Companies are creating content that feels natural and blends into what you are already watching. Instead of obvious ads, it feels more like part of the experience. Social media plays a big role in this, especially with short videos and influencer content.

At the end of the day, digital media is a huge part of my life. It helps me stay organized, connected, and on track with everything I have going on. It also shows how important it is in marketing today and how businesses are using it to connect with people in a more personal way.
